Site last updated 5th July 2018

In July 2018 Thorney and Eye Medical Practice are to merge with other practices
in the Peterborough area, and form a new group named Octagon Medical Practice.

For more information please see the Octagon website www.octagonmedicalpractice.co.uk.

For the latest updates see our Facebook page.

Named Accountable GP

From 1st April 2015 onwards Practices are required, under the General Medical
Services Contract, to allocate a named accountable GP to all patients, including children.

This GP is responsible for the patients’ overall care. However, patients can still book
appointments or telephone consultations with any GP in the practice.

Should you wish to change your named GP we will do our best to accommodate this.

At Thorney Medical Practice the name of your allocated GP is your
registered GP, either Dr Richards, Dr Houghton or Dr Pearson.

You can also find the name of your allocated GP
on your repeat prescription request slip.

If you are unsure who your allocated GP is please ask at reception.

NHS 111 Service
All out of hours care should be
accessed via the new 111 service.

This number will be answered by trained call handlers who
direct you to the most appropriate and suitable service.

Click here for more information about 111.

All online users can now view your medical records online.

If you already have a user name and password and you wish to view your records
please request access through the website next time you are logged in.

If you do not have access to online services and would like to enable them,
to view your records, together with booking appointments and requesting repeat
prescriptions, please ask at reception for an online request form.

Please note that you will need to bring some form of identification with
you when you return the completed form.

Travel Advice
To make the process of getting your holiday and travel vaccinations easier,
you can now download a request form here. This can then be returned to the
surgery so that the Practice Nurse can order the correct vaccinations and
arrange to give them to you in good time.

Thorney Medical Practice is a member of the Borderline Local Commissioning Group
which is one of eight local commissioning groups that make up
the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group.
